Frank Rigney turned a superstar playing career into a superstar career as a media personality. A CFL All-Star and a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame as a player, Rigney successfully transitioned into the broadcasting world with over 20 years on CBC and CTV as a colour commentator. He was also a football analyst on BCTV.
Rigney was involved in hundreds of CFL broadcasts, including many featuring the BC Lions. He was also involved in numerous charities in BC and hosted a Boys and Girls Club event every year raising thousands of dollars. Rigney also worked as a commentator on Olympic Games on CTV. He was an impactful broadcaster and a key supporter of football in British Columbia.
Rigney passed away on June 29, 2010.
