Doug Brown had a standout career from 2001 to 2011 in the CFL, all spent with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. A native of New Westminster and a graduate of Simon Fraser University, Brown went on to be an eight-time division all-star and a seven-time CFL All-Star while being named league’s Most Outstanding Canadian in 2001. He was nominated as the Most Outstanding Canadian on two more occasions (2006, 2007) and nominated for the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year award in 2008.
He finished his career as second on Winnipeg’s all-time careers tackles list with 426, and his seven CFL all-star selections are second only to John Helton at the defensive tackle position (as of 2022).
Brown played in three Grey Cup games (2001, 2007 and 2011) and was named to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016.
