Quarterback for the Meralomas 1971-73, ( BC Champions) was league MVP (72 & 73) and selected to the 50 yr. BC Jr Football Dream Team. Captain and quarterback of UBC from 1974-78 and led the Thunderbirds to their first ever Vanier Cup appearance in ’78 as well as their first Shrum Bowl victory that same year. Canada West most outstanding player and Hec Creighton Nominee in both 1977 and 78. Still holds 2 passing records for the T’Birds, most career touchdown passes (70) and most single game TD Passes (5).

Elected to the UBC Alumni Hall of Fame in 1997 and is the only UBC player to have his jersey retired (12). Coaching background includes Offensive coordinater for the Meralomas (BC Champions ’79); Offensive coordinator and assistant coach with the Ballenas Whaler’s High School in Parksville 2001-present and BC High School AA Champions 2002.

Dan is a Quarterback coach with the UBC Thunderbirds. Dan has been involved in UBC Football Alumni activities and Fundraising for the Thunderbirds for the past 34 years and is Past President of the Thunderbird Football Association. Dan is married to Christina for the past 33 years and has 2 grown children, Challayne and Braden. Braden is a former Thunderbird player and a graduate of the Sauder School of Business. Challayne graduated from UBC with a Bsc and SFU with a Masters in Health Education. Challayne is also married to former UBC Quarterback Rob Kenney and have recently made Dan and Christina proud Grandparents to their daughter Quinn.
