Chris began his love affair with the game of football during his high school days at Vancouver College. This was followed by a playing career at SFU from 1965 to 1968, which also saw him captain the Clan during their inaugural season.
Following graduation in 1969, Chris took a position with the school as defensive line coach before returning to high school roots as head coach at Vancouver College from 1970 to 1972.
He returned to the college ranks once again serving SFU in his now-familiar defensive line coaching role from 1973 to 1980 before a two-year run at UBC as the school’s defensive coordinator.
Chris rejoined Simon Fraser as the university’s head coach in 1983, a position he would hold through the 2005 season overseeing a program that produced a significant number of future pros. Following his 23 years at SFU he returned to UBC one again serving as defensive line coach from 2006 to 2010. In a career that has spanned more than 40 years, Chris continues to develop future football stars as the defensive coordinator at Hugh Boyd Secondary.
