
Derral Moriyama

Derral Moriyama is Senior Vice-President, Commercial, Greater Vancouver District, BMO Bank of Montreal.
He joined BC & Yukon Division in 2003 as Senior Vice President, Vancouver District, and was appointed to his current role in November 2006, following the restructuring of the province’s retail and commercial banking sectors. Mr. Moriyama is responsible for the full range of financial services the Bank provides to commercial, small business and mid-market customers in the Greater Vancouver area, including Squamish and the Sunshine Coast. He is also responsible for credit adjudication for large credit transactions in the province.
Mr. Moriyama brings 28 years of experience in the banking industry to his position, in addition to several years in private industry. During his tenure with the Bank, Mr. Moriyama has held a number of senior positions in Commercial and Corporate Banking, Natural Resource Account Management, Risk Management and Retail Banking. Prior to his move to B.C., Mr. Moriyama was Senior Vice-President, Business Banking responsible for strategic development, and sales and service for the Canadian small business and mid-market area, including agriculture and succession planning for the Canadian market.

Mr. Moriyama has an MBA from the University of Toronto and completed the
Executive Development Programs at the Banff School of Management and the Kellogg
School of Business in Chicago. He sits on numerous boards and committees in
the Vancouver Region including Northstar Trade Finance, Vancouver Board of
Trade, B.C. Football Hall of Fame, Vancouver Aquarium, Canadian Forces Liaison
Council, National Nikkei Museum
and the YMCA Nanook House.
